"Burn out can be bad, especially when you ignore periodisation. Not only elites need it — for adult swimming, we need periodisation to maintain our mental health and enjoyment of the sport."
Coach Alyce Ooi Lee Tze is a self-made swimmer who came from a sports background in basketball and martial arts — but had no swimming experience whatsoever. She could not swim properly when she entered her first triathlon in 2015, finishing near the very back of the water leg. As seen in her YouTube footage, that was her real starting point in the water. Determined not to stay there, she joined MySwim — and what followed was a complete transformation.
With the right guidance, she went on to clinch podium positions at several races such as the Penang International Cross Channel Swim 2018, 10KM Thailand Swimathon 2018, and the Port Dickson International Triathlon 2020, among many others. She was also featured in Gayatravel Magazine for her performance at the Tanjung Rhu Swimfest 2016.
Her mission is clear: to empower adults of every level to swim proficiently — not just to survive in water, but to own it. In 2024, Alyce and Coach Chiee Leong became equal co-owners and took over the leadership of MySwim Coaching from founder Coach Shauqie Aziz, continuing the mission he built and raising the standard further.

"Everything I went through exists for one reason — to empower adults of every level to swim proficiently. Not just to survive in water. To own it."
